Today is a super exciting day for us at Deskfirst, we have been working intensively towards this milestone for a long time - Deskfirst launches out of Beta with a newly designed modern desktop interface, a fully-featured product, and a Pro tier!

Even as a tech person, I often find software solutions for simple problems to be overly complex and frustrating to use, which many times leads me to give up on using them altogether. So for less tech-oriented people, these solutions are simply inaccessible. This in turn leads to countless businesses and individuals across various markets being left behind.

Modern Desktop Environment Interface
We took to heart your feedback and redesigned our online desktop environment to be more modern with smooth performance. We also extended the customization and branding options, letting you leave your mark on your customers, colleagues, and collaborators.
Some key updates include the following.
- Completely new modern design of our cloud desktop environment interface.
- Smooth experience with performance optimization.
- Full control over the branding of your web desktops.
- Integration with Unsplash that provides beautiful backgrounds to choose from.
New Pro Tier with up to 100 Web Desktops
Our new Pro tier is the real deal, users with a Pro license can create up to 100 web desktops, with a total of 500 GB of storage that can be set dynamically, add their own branding, and much more, as we will cover in the next sections below.
Of course, we still keep our free tier, which is now called Starter Plan, so you can invite anyone to your web desktops, even if they don’t have a Pro license they could be invited with a Viewer role (more of this below). Additionally, users on the free Starter Plan can be invited to an unlimited number of web desktops and have 1 web desktop of their own with 2 GB of storage completely free.
Some of the key benefits of having a Pro license are covered in the sections below.
- Can create up to 100 web desktops with a total of 500 GB of storage that can be allocated dynamically.
- A Pro user can be invited as Viewer, Editor, or Manager, to any web desktop on Deskfirst, even outside their team (cross-organizational permissions).
- Can add their own branding to their web desktops.
- Subscribed users can create a Team and purchase Pro licenses for team members.
Seamless Sharing with Granular Permissions
We rebuilt from the ground up the access permissions you can choose from when sharing web desktops. Now you can choose from 3 distinct role types: Viewer, Editor, or Manager. As our goal is to make things easy, you don’t have to remember what access permission each role provides – it’s all given right in the sharing interface.
Since the Editor and Manager roles require the invited user to have a Pro license, we’ve made it super easy to add them to your Team and assign them a Pro license with a single click, right from the sharing interface itself.
Additionally, you can easily share your web desktops using shareable links, lock them with a password, and set their expiration date. Shareable links have the access permissions like the Viewer role, and collaborators could use them to view your web desktops even if they don’t have a Deskfirst account.
Another cool thing is that you can see when your collaborators last visited your web desktops from the sharing menu!
Central Team Management
Our top priority is to make Deskfirst easy to use for you, the user, and also for teams and businesses.
Now you can manage and assign Pro licenses to others from a single subscription that consists of multiple licenses. We created a central Team dashboard that allows you to manage your team from a single unified view, where you can assign licenses to others.
To simplify it even further, we also created Team Roles, which allows you to set Admins who will be able to assign and unassign Pro licenses in your Team, but without having access to your billing area or controlling the number of licenses in your subscription.
New Customization & Branding Options
We redesigned the customization feature completely!
Now you can scroll through endless stunning background images, taken from the integrated Unsplash library. You can filter by theme, search for specific keywords, and preview every background before you apply it to your web desktop!
And that’s not all! We released another long-awaited feature – Custom Branding!
With the Pro Plan, you can add your own branding, upload your logo and place it in various places, or upload your own custom image. This will keep your collaborators engaged with your brand!
